Date: March 2011 - Jan. 2012 J. Latosinska, from the Institute of Physics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, in Poland, wrote a book entitled "Ultraviolet and Environement". She asked Mines ParisTech / Transvalor in March 2011 for the right to exploit the map of radiation in UV (280 - 400 nm) reaching the ground (Fig. 1). The displayed quantity is the irradiation for a day averaged over fifteen years (1990-2004), expressed in J/cm². This approximative assessment is obtained from observations made by meteorological satellites. Click on map to enlarge. The handbook has been published at the end of the year 2011. This report testifies "A European project was launched to develop downstream services in renewable energy. A high-resolution solar atlas [link] was released for the south-eastern part of France. Together with the 20-year Helioclim-1 database and the SoDa service, this represents valuable information for energy-policy and investment planning. The SoDa service ensures free and open access to surface solar radiation and will become part of the GEOSS DataCORE." |
